Kirk Jefferies Scores Again at 35 Raceway
Frankfort, Ohio - Thursday, October 26, 2005

Mr. Jerry Wahl
Media / PR Director

Saturday, October 15, 2005 was another action packed night at the new 35 Raceway Park and one that saw a number of cautions and red flags in the 600 Mini Sprint feature. Nineteen cars took the green flag with Kirk Jefferies jumping into the lead from his front row starting slot. They made it through the first lap but the second lap was a different story. Hershell Wills brought out the first caution on the second lap when he spun. After the restart he and Jesse McCreary flipped in the same spot where Wills had just spun the lap before. The third caution came out when Dick Jefferies and Brandy Bower tangled.
When action finally got back under way Jefferies continued his lead in the Team Magnum Racing special with Dan Lewis and Jamie Paul trying to catch the rapid moving Jefferis. Action was red flagged on lap ten when Ron Duerrer flipped violently on turn four with the car being eliminated and Duerer uninjured. Jefferies continued to lead to the checker followed by Lewis, Paul, Shane Haubeil, and James Lewis.
Heat wins went to Brandy Bower, Jamie Paul, and Shane Haubeil.
The DWARF feature was a great run for John Evans. He started fourteenth and began to charge toward the front as he advanced almost every laps. Even though there were several caution periods the most exciting lap was the last one. As the drivers headed into turn three  which had David Seitz who had led most of the way in the lead but when they exited turn four for the checker it was fifty-eight year old John Evans claiming his fourth win of the season as he got around Seitz. Eleventh place starter Toby Boetcher nipped Seitz for second with Seitz third, Terry Stickel Jr. fourth and Mike Weaver fifth.
Apparently the full moon had something to due with the number of cautions during the night and the Sportsman Dwarf feature was no exception as the yellow waved four times. Rodney Rittenhouse held the lead for the first seven laps and then it was the #56 of Jim Monst out front to lead to the checker. Barry Warner and Tony Jenkins rounded out the first three followed by Rittenhouse and Paul Lemaster.Monst and Shane Rittenhouse claimed the heats.
The Modified Mini Late Model main ran the smoothest of the evening and when the checker fell it was Eric Arledge staking claim to his third straight win. Darrell Bowe led the first lap then Mike Lewis the second with Bowe back in front for three more laps but from then on it was Arledge out front all the way to the checker. Lewis was second followed by Al Bryans, Kevin Iles, and Bowe.
Eighteen cars took the green flag in the 4 Cylinder Stock main with the field cut to thirteen by lap seven due to on track incidents. Robbie Roe led the first three laps until Chip Truitt stole the lead for the next ten laps. Steve Carpenter slipped around Truitt and the battle was set for the finish as thirteenth place starter James Ball Sr. was coming on strong and strong he was as he made a pass on the outside to claim the win with Carpenter second and Truitt third. Jerry Hixon and David Huffer rounded out the top five.
Hixon, Truitt and Carpenter were heat winners while the B-Main went to Ball who had dropped out of his heat with mechanical problems.
35 Raceway Park will close out the season Saturday night, October 22 with racing starting at 4 p.m. and an endurance race to follow the regular program and a kids pumpkin decorating contest.

Jefferies Scores Mini Sprint Win at 35 Raceway
Frankfort, Ohio - Saturday, September 24, 2005

It was a full night of racing at 35 Raceway Park Saturday night with the pits filled with race cars and the stands nearly packed with fans to witness the third event of the season at Tony Boetcher's newly constructed fifth-mile dirt oval. And the fans were not disappointed in the least bit as the competition was close in nearly all events.
600 Mini Sprint driver Kirk Jefferies started the evening off with a heat win which was a warm-up event for him as he returned in the feature to record the win. From his sixth place starting slot he quickly charged to the front after a first lap restart caused by the flip of heat winner Herschel Wills who was uninjured after his wild ride on turn two. Jeff Barnhart wasn't far behind to claim runner-up with third going to Dan Lewis while Scott Fasse was fourth and James Lewis fifth. Ryan Broughton was the other heat winner.
In the DWARF feature Toby Boetcher started third and was soon in the lead as he led with three other drivers fighting right behind him for position and it looked like he would surely be the winner. It wasn't to be though as fifth place starter John Evans was dogging Boetcher in the closing laps and made a hard charge into turn three on the white flag lap as did Boetcher in trying to fend off Evans. Boetcher's car leap-frogged, bounced into the air and Evans crossed the line first with Boetcher second. For Evans it was his third straight win. Joe Stuckey, James Walfhill, and Kevin Rittenhouse rounded out the top five.
Terry Stickle was the star in the Sportsman DWARF Cars, taking his heat and then returning to claim the feature over Alan Nawman, Ricky Taylor, Gary Warner, and Barry Gallogly.
Being a heat winner seemed to be a good luck charm to win your feature so to speak as Eric Arledge in the Modified Mini Late Models did just that. He maintained the lead while it was a battle between Mike Warrens and Jason Crowe for second. Crowe earned the runner-up honors with Warrens, another heat winner was home third followed by Jr. Lemaster, and Mike Whitten.
Nineteen 4-Cylinder Stocks took to the track for their feature with Aaron Nawman and Jerry Hixon bringing the field to the green. When the white flag waved it was James Ball Sr. trying hard to hold off Steve Carpenter. Unfortunately Carpenter almost lost it on turn two but quickly recovered to hang on to second place. Nawman was third with John Arthurs fourth and Robbie Roe fifth. Heat wins went to Carpenter, Arthurs, and Ball.
The Vintage American Race Cars were on hand to show the fans the cars of yesteryears and delighted the fans with a heat event and a highly contested feature.
